The Twilight of Pride in America

The end is not here, but may be coming soon. And that would be a very good thing.

Have you ever prayed for a day to be over, a day where things were going so badly you couldn’t wait for night to fall?

That’s how “pride” looks to those of us who sigh and cry out, “How long, O Lord?” We see the defilement of God’s beautiful rainbow taken captive to the pleasure of rebels. We grieve over the depravity pulling our nation into a sewer. We eagerly yearn for the rainbow to be redeemed in truth.

And we are begging God to bring the dawn, a new day to swallow up the darkness surrounding our precious children.

We are weary of the heartache of witnessing sexual atrocities where children are the spiritual, physical, medical or legal victims.

It’s gut-wrenching to learn about children being groomed ideologically and then sexually. The only reprieve we get from “pride” celebrations being forced on most K-12 students is that schools are out by June. Yet now those observances are moving to May, or schools are urging the GSA clubs in many schools to reconvene in June to march with the half-naked adults in their local pride parades. What could possibly go wrong?

Our nation’s largest union, the National Education Association, defiantly proclaims that K-12 students should have the “Freedom to Read.” If you point out the obscene passages so common in today’s middle and high school novels, you are declared a bigot by the NEA and others. Big Publishing is surely funding the NEA and ALA suppression of parents’ valid concerns. It’s tragically clear that many, perhaps most of these education leaders are comfortable with porn exposure to children.

Consider a passage like the following, just one of many in this particular book. Forgive me, but here’s what the NEA defends:

“He reached his hand down and pulled out my dick. He quickly went to giving me head. I just sat back and enjoyed it as I could tell he was, too. He was also definitely experienced in what he was doing, because he went to work quite confidently. He then came up and asked me if I wanted to try on him. I said sure. I began and he said, ‘Watch your teeth.’ I didn't want to let him know I was inexperienced. So, I slowed down and took my time and luckily got into a good rhythm. He didn't know I was a virgin, and I did my best to act dominant like my favorite porn star. I was an actor, and this was my movie.”

[From a widely promoted teen novel, All Boys Aren’t Blue: A Memoir Manifesto by George M. Johnson]

The NEA featured this book title in a “Freedom to Read” mural at its 2023 annual convention. This is freedom? It’s actually corruption and it should be a crime to hand a child such a book.

My mother’s heart breaks for the child who reads All Boys and believes it depicts healthy human interactions. “Is this what I’m supposed to do?” most kids will think. My objections have nothing to do with the fact that the main character is black. Only the author cares about that. It’s the trashy story he’s foisted upon American kids that is the problem, filled with justification for his own homosexual sin as well as many other irresponsible behaviors.

When the sexual impulse is awakened, a teen’s life often becomes a slave to that lust and academic achievement, noble ideals and dreams, and simple goodness and kindness fall into the ash heap. Porn is killing our young men. Its use is implicated in sexual assaults of women and children and is the obsession of an increasingly illiterate generation.

Yet the NEA is pretty much fine with illiteracy. If not, they would recommend teachers who don’t bring most of their students to reading proficiency be fired. Good luck with any union proposal in that direction.

And the “LGBTQ” movement is fine with porn use among adults and children. They defend it.

Admittedly not every person engaged in a homosexual or gender distorted life approves of porn promoted to minors, but I will stand on my assessment that most do. Those who don’t are unwilling to stand up and object.  And we Christian conservatives can’t trust alliances with groups like “Gays Against Groomers,” because those who identify as “gay” believe people are born that way and allies send a message that they apparently believe so, too. Our children are drowning in the poison of that lie. Why are so many parental rights’ leaders foolishly linking arms with those who will ultimately make the problem worse?

"Gays Against Groomers" folks are probably attending their local "pride" parades this month. Is that the message we want to send?

God, please help us and give us wisdom and discernment. And when, oh when will more pastors speak out? I am so thankful for those who do, but the majority shy away from this or worse-- distort Scripture to justify the hijacked rainbow and its proponents.

Three teens who dared to stand against the agenda by marking a rainbow flag street mural with scooter tracks, now face felony hate crimes charges in Washington state and possible prison time. They dared to challenge the forced tolerance exhibited by those who paint public streets with pro-homosexual emblems. What right does anyone have to deface our streets with symbols of sexual perversion?

Yet BLM protesters burned and destroyed businesses to the tune of $1-2 billion and caused many deaths in 2020, yet few were prosecuted. Still, we’re forced to endure the charade of  trivial, unsubstantiated charges against former President Trump while Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, who likely engaged in acts of treason, are free as a bird.

Lawlessness is a characteristic of a sexually depraved culture and it’s one hallmark of God’s judgment. A nation that is apparently tolerating the slaughter of 60 million pre-born children is another. Our hearts are hard and God may be making them harder. He did it to Pharoah, and that ruler’s stubbornness cost him the life of his own son and heir.

What will it take for us to humble ourselves? Fire and brimstone like God rained down on Sodom?

I pray that won’t happen.

There are ripples of backlash. Enough people have had it with “pride” that corporate support is fading after the Bud Light and Target fiascos in 2023, and the voice of sanity has gained some renewed volume in our nation.

Is it too late? I don’t think so. “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (Galatians 6:9)

God sees all of this and it may be a time of testing. Do we love our children enough?

I guess we will see. Keep pressing through the night and wait for the dawn. One way or another, it’s coming.
