The good news about the outrageous proposed changes to Title IX federal law is that most states will be able to say 'no,' thanks to numerous court rulings, at least for now. Ohio is one of those.
The bad news is that, because of liberal judges, schools in 24 states will be forced to pretend that gender tyranny is a good thing.
The Biden/Harris administration simply invented the changes (first proposed under the Obama administration, don’t forget), which are not authorized by congressional action, to attempt to rewrite the 1972 Title IX law. That’s the regulation that guarantees actual females equal access to educational programs, like sports. What the radical Democrats hope to do is change the definition of “sex” to include “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” so that school programs, facilities and sports teams that don’t treat pretend girls the same as actual girls will be in violation of federal civil rights law.
Federal charges can also be filed against students and teachers if they fail to use the prescribed pronouns, allow boys into girls’ restrooms and showers, and in every way, honor the harmful “LGBTQ” agenda. This insane rewrite would authorize secret counseling at school behind parents’ backs on these issues.
One school in Wisconsin was so sure two years ago that Title IX was about to become law that three thirteen-year-old boys were cited with Title IX sexual harassment violations after they called a confused female student by.... female pronouns! Can you believe this? The school dropped the charges after the widespread public outcry, but that kind of tyranny is about to become normal at the schools in many states. Even after the school backed down from this nonsense, it still caused these middle schoolers to be falsely accused, with the potential that their school records would include a federal charge! That’s the kind of hard ball intimidation radical education activists bring into schools.
There is some good news. A national group, the SAVE Title IX Network, is starting a program to maintain the integrity of the actual Title IX law in states like Ohio where, again, because of court rulings, schools do NOT have to put these changes into effect.
SAVE is starting a school watchdog program of local parents and citizens who will observe and report about what’s happening within their schools.
And this is really needed because there were reports last year of Ohio school boards and counselors being advised by school attorneys that the Title IX changes were essentially already a done deal. So that meant boys were free to join girls’ sports teams and counselors were free to privately counsel children to socially transition at school into the opposite sex, even if parents were unaware.
