Is it Too Early to Sing "Ding, Dong the Witch is Dead"?

Linda Harvey

Justice is sweet when it finally arrives. The Southern Poverty Law Center, the SPLC, has been indicted by a grand jury on 11 counts including wire fraud, money laundering and more. And the indictment exposed what they were doing: giving millions of dollars to Ku Klux Klan and white supremacist groups to sustain their activities.

In other words, they were encouraging and manufacturing the hate that they said they were fighting.

I am tempted to sing, “Ding dong, the witch is dead,” but I guess we ought to wait until some of their executives go to jail.

Our group, Mission America, was placed on the SPLC “hate group” list fourteen years ago, and it’s totally undeserved. We are joined by many other pro-family and pro-life groups unjustly placed on that list, groups which the SPLC added in order to smear us but also puff up outrage on the left for fundraising purposes. Now we know where some of that money was going.

Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk’s group, was placed on that list just a few months before his assassination. We know that being on that list puts people in the cross hairs of vicious radicals willing to commit murder. This was the case with Family Research Council in 2012, when a would-be mass shooter, a homosexual activist,  entered their lobby in Washington, DC with a gun and many rounds of ammunition. Praise God, he was wrestled to the ground by the security guard before he could go through the building on a killing spree. That guard was wounded but recovered. The shooter told the FBI he learned about FRC and its location from the SPLC hate group list.

One of the white supremacist groups SPLC boosted was the organizer of the infamous 2017 Charlottesville, Virginia protest over removal of Confederate statues. The mainstream media and Democrats misquoted a statement about that incident by President Trump which has been rehashed inaccurately many times since.

Here at Mission America, we have lost funding opportunities and at least one speaking engagement because we were placed on the SPLC smear list.

Several years ago, I published an article about the SPLC to highlight their insane ideology. This group is so committed to the homosexual and transgender agenda that they even claimed in a 2024 article that drag queen story hours were helpful to children’s literacy! So I made a little fun of this while outlining the very serious and harmful actions this group has taken. I have pulled that article up again and it’s posted at the top of our home page.

This indictment was brought in Alabama, a pretty conservative state overall and yet the home state for the SPLC. Hopefully, the justice system there will not let the SPLC smear machine slip out of these criminal charges. Ideally their leaders deserve incarceration as the consequence of a long-term, very harmful and unjust hoax perpetrated on the American people, not to mention Constitutional violations of free speech and freedom of religion. The list goes on.

I am so grateful for the Trump Department of Justice for bringing this indictment.

And thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayers.
