Does No Name-Calling Week Include Christians?

HOW PRO-‘GAY’ LESSONS ARE CREATING MORE SLURS AND NAME-CALLING, NOT LESS

If your school has launched a bullying prevention program, it will most likely be a big focus this winter. Many schools will observe “No Name-Calling Week” in late January.

But is respect for Christians part of these “no name- calling” lessons? Or does this effort in reality create more division by labeling and stereotyping objections to homosexuality? The labels are “homophobia,” or “hate,” or claiming that opposing cross-dressing is “heterosexism.” Thousands of us are highly offended because it’s not true. I know my own heart and there’s no hate there; there is in fact, grave concern for these kids, lots of prayers, etc. Yet I and others will never change our minds about homosexuality, because we know the truth. I used to approve of homosexuality but changed my mind when I got more information, not less.

The truth is, homosexuality itself is hateful.

It hates the natural human body and spirit, and opposes truth at every level. It fights gender integrity as marvelously designed by God. It “uglifies” a person, preventing the full blossom of natural beauty as a young male or female. It is a dead-end affection, fruitless, never creating new life. All who enter it will be plagued by troubled spirits, anxious thoughts, unsatisfied desires, and insecurity, including separation from God and hostility and suspicion toward those who try to warn them. It is rebellion at a deep level against who you really are. It is poison in any human life and it is poison in schools.

“Gay” student clubs only add fuel to these raging internal fires, by dwelling on supposed discrimination while urging entry into the behavior. The enemy? Traditionalists — students, teachers, parents — who know how harmful homosexuality is. Making sure people understand who the enemy is, is high on the agenda. Ironically, this neatly dovetails with the messages of some anti-bullying curricula.

Unfortunately, there are many kids who are acting out homosexually who get bullied, and we in no way want to excuse this unkind and harmful behavior. But the solution is not to endorse homosexuality. Instead, we need to get counseling for these troubled kids to help end their self-destructive behavior, at the same time schools should consistently punish all uncivil and unkind treatment by bullies. What causes more harm to kids—-bullying of students who believe mistakenly they were born homosexual, or homosexuality itself? It's something to think about. Again, no excuse for bullying, but these programs assume that homosexuality as a behavior is something worthy of respect and defense, and that it's harmless. It’s not. Let’s get it out of kids’ lives.

“No Name-Calling Week” only adds to the problem. Here’s the name-calling and bigotry that is sadly being encouraged by such programs:

“Homophobe” = A slur that describes anyone who objects to homosexuality. Even expressing the “yuck” factor means you are a bigot. Repulsion is now a mental disorder.

“Heterosexist” = A slur against traditional beliefs about gender and those who think authentic marriage is great, that sex change and homosexuality aren't.

“Hateful” = A slur that deliberately misunderstands the opposing view. Saying no to homosexuality means you are evil, when the truth is, such warnings save lives.

“Oppressor” = A slur that implies you are harming others by your ‘hateful’ attitudes. You are the problem-—not homosexuality.

Anti-bullying curricula that encourage acceptance of homosexuality and cross-dressing only worsen the name-calling problem. This is why schools need to remove such programs from schools.

The “No Name- Calling Week” program was created by a homosexual activist group trying to gain access to students.

From the web site, www.nonamecallingweek.com :

"No Name-Calling Week was inspired by a young adult novel entitled The Misfits by popular author, James Howe. The book tells the story of four best friends trying to survive the seventh grade in the face of all too frequent taunts based on their weight, height, intelligence, and sexual orientation/gender expression. Motivated by the inequities they see around them, the 'Gang of Five' (as they are known) creates a new political party during student council elections and run on a platform aimed at wiping out name-calling of all kinds. Though they lose the election, they win the support of the school's principal for their cause and their idea for a 'No Name-Calling Day' at school.

"Motivated by this simple, yet powerful, idea, the No Name-Calling Week Coalition, created by GLSEN and Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, and consisting of over 40 national partner organizations, organized an actual No Name-Calling Week in schools across the nation during the week of March 1-5, 2004. This year, No Name-Calling Week will take place the week of January 26-30, 2009. The project seeks to focus national attention on the problem of name-calling in schools, and to provide students and educators with the tools and inspiration to launch an on-going dialogue about ways to eliminate name-calling in their communities."

Sounds sort of noble. Yet the book mentioned is highly inappropriate, and red flags should go up at the mention of “sexual orientation/gender expression” and sponsorship by the group GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. This is the extremist group that helps kids organize homosexual clubs, and has stated a goal to get homosexual student clubs in all schools, kindergarten through 12th grade. Grade schoolers declaring their homosexuality? This is child sexual abuse!

But what’s the solution? Aren’t we at an impasse, if Christians want homosexuality out of schools, and these activists say the Christian message is "hateful" and needs to go?

Yes—-there is a solution. It’s simple. Schools have to choose, one or the other. Both messages cannot remain with integrity. Either schools need to wise up and remove homosexuality and cross-dressing from the school climate (meaning: remove the propaganda and get help for these kids), or the conservatives and Christians need to go. That’s what is desired-—for Christians to leave, or be suppressed, or their message watered down to nothing helpful.

The most loving, healthy, moral and compassionate choice for kids is no promotion of homosexuality or gender change. Period. No activist homosexual teachers. No homosexual-friendly texts or library books. No cross-dressing kids. No girls necking in the hall. No more forced diversity training. No homosexual clubs. No more hate of Christian morality. No more snide remarks and slurs against Christian beliefs. No more useless condom demonstrations. And no more lies about what’s best for kids.

Christians are not the oppressors, nor the creators of division in schools. This horrendous behavior is. And it will not end, even if Christians were to leave. Actually, all that’s restraining total barbarism is the few true Christians left. When they go, all hell, literally, will break loose. The pansexuality of our current trash culture is a black hole for all who enter.

Please, folks, let’s wise up. Either go to your school with other parents and start fighting this nonsense today—or remove your children. Home school them or put them in Christian schools.

However we can, let’s stop the name-calling, and let’s care enough to start telling the truth.
